Miami native Amanda Valdes, 30, is a mainstay on the art scene. Her iconic macabre style is instantly recognizable and her impact has spread internationally. Valdes’ art focuses on the female identity and the sirens who fill her works are typically manufactured with acrylic paint, at times deconstructed with peroxide or embellished with pieces of broken mirror. She often uses spray paint, colored pencil, ink and watercolor as well.
Valdes attended Florida Atlantic University and studied at the Art Institute of Fort
Lauderdale. Her first solo exhibition debuted at the young age of 18.
